Iran exported over 4 million tons of gas condensates during the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21), Latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration showed.
According to the data, 4,167,000 tons of gas condensates worth more than $2.1 billion were exported over 5 months to August 22, IRIB news agency reported.
The report added that the exports marked a 9 percent and 11.2 percent growth in tonnage and value during the period compared to the same period last year.
Condensates are in the twilight zone between crude oil and natural gas. They possess characteristics of both oil and gas, and have values and market drivers both similar to, and distinctly separate from, oil and gas.
China, India, South Korea, Turkey, Taiwan and Japan were main buyers of Iranian gas condensates in Asia, according to the report.
