What Mo Dioubate said about hitting transfer portal after Elite Eight run with Alabama basketball

Alabama basketball forward Mouhamed Dioubate is going portaling.
The sophomore entered his name in the transfer portal on Friday afternoon, per On3's Pete Nakos. Dioubate marks the second Crimson Tide player from the 2024-25 Elite Eight run to make moves to leave Tuscaloosa, following redshirt freshman Naas Cunningham, who hit the portal on Monday.
After Alabama's loss to Duke in Newark, Dioubate told the Tuscaloosa News that he was in search of a starting spot.
"I know what I deserve," Dioubate said.

Dioubate never saw a start in his two seasons at Alabama, but contributed even more critical minutes for the Crimson Tide after his rookie year.
Averaging 16 minutes per game in 37 appearances, Dioubate averaged 7.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 61.7% from the floor.
In an Instagram post, Dioubate wrote a message to "Crimson Tide Nation."
"I would like to thank Coach Oats and the rest of the coaching staff, all the supporting staff and the University of Alabama as a whole for extending me the opportunity to be a part of a great run and experience during my time here. Thanks to everyone that showed me love and support during my time at Alabama," Dioubate said.
"With that being said, I have decided to enter the transfer portal."
