New Hampshire man dies following house fire in Grafton, officials say
A New Hampshire man has died nearly a week after a house fire in Grafton County, according to state fire officials.The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal said 73-year-old Gary Herschel of Grafton died on Thursday following a fire at his home on Spectacle Pond Road last Friday, March 28.Herschel was being treated at Massachusetts General Hospital at the time of his death. He had previously been treated for his injuries at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, according to fire officials.His official cause and manner of death are still listed as pending.An adult woman also suffered minor injuries in the fire, but they said she was treated and released from the hospital just hours later.An investigation into the fire is ongoing, but the Fire Marshal's Office said they believe a wood stove was involved.
