ACCORDING TO THE SARPY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, 40 YEAR-OLD GARY DAY WAS FOUND AT A TRUCK STOP WEDNESDAY NIGHT WITH 17 YEAR OLD SOPHIA FRANKLIN AFTER TWO TRUCK DRIVERS CALLED IN A TIP TODAY. DAY PLEADED NOT GUILTY TO SEVERAL MISDEMEANOR CHARGES ASKING FOR A $10,000 BOND. THIS WAS DAY EARLIER IN COURT THIS MORNING. PROSECUTORS PLAN TO FILE ADDITIONAL COMPLAINTS SAYING HE’S WANTED IN VERMONT FOR EXPLOITATION. THEY ALSO SAY DAY WAS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ENDANGERING A MINOR IN INDIANA. WE’RE WORKING TO CONFIRM THOSE DETAILS. FRANKLIN’S FATHER DROVE TO NEBRASKA THURSDAY TO REUNITE WITH SOPHIA. HER MOTHER SPOKE TO OUR SISTER STATION IN WISCONSIN. SHE SAYS THANKS TO THOSE WHO CALLED AUTHORITIES. WHOEVER IT WAS THAT HAD THE FORETHOUGHT TO THINK THAT LOOKS LIKE THAT GIRL AND CALL THE POLICE. I CAN’T EVEN BEGIN. TO SAY HOW GRATEFUL I AM. THE SARPY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE REPORTS THAT SOPHIA AND HER UNBORN CHILD, WHO THEY BELIEVE IS DAYS, ARE BOTH SAFE AND HEALTHY. DAY HAS A CONTINUED HEARING SCHEDULED FOR LATER THIS AFTERNOON.       The man accused of abducting a pregnant Wisconsin teenager appeared in Sarpy County court twice and federal court once on Friday. The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office said Gary Day, 40, was found at a truck stop in Sarpy County with Sophia Franklin, 17, after truck drivers called in a tip.The Sheriff's Office reported Franklin, and her unborn child are safe and healthy.Franklin's father drove to Nebraska Thursday to reunite with Sophia.'You never expect it's going to happen to your kids': Missing teen from Wisconsin found in Omaha after 2 months. See the story here.In his first court appearance Friday, Day pleaded 'not guilty' to contributing to the delinquency of a minor and providing a false name to law enforcement, both misdemeanor charges.Day is asking for a $10,000 bond. The 40-year-old went before a judge for an extradition hearing on Friday afternoon. He faces charges in three different states, and both Wisconsin and Arkansas have filed extradition complaints. Day is resisting both of those extraditions which means he has the right for bond to be set.The Sarpy County judge set bond for the Arkansas and Wisconsin extradition cases at $5 million, and bond was set for the two Sarpy County misdemeanors at $2.5 million.If bail is posted for all three, Day will have to wear a GPS monitor, and he will have to stay in Nebraska.
