WEST VIRGINIA (WCHS) — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning several counties in West Virginia as storms and severe weather continues to make its way east across the region.
The warning covers Boone, Kanawha, northeastern Lincoln, northwestern Fayette and southern Putnam counties, according to the National Weather Service.
More severe weather is expected to continue overnight into Friday that could cause additional flash flooding.
NWS has already issued flood warning for several counties in the state and possible additional warnings could be issued through the evening and into the weekend.
