The Indiana State women’s golf team wrapped up the three-day Ozarks National Invitational tournament in Missouri on Wednesday by finishing in 10th place.

Junior Briana LeMaire led the Sycamores with a 234 (77-76-81), good for a 21st-place finish. She was the lowest Sycamore for the third time this 2024-25 season. She tied for the second-most pars in the tournament with 25, one shy of tying the leader.

Rosalie DiNunzio came in right behind her at 22 with a score of 236 (+20, 79-79-78). It was her third-straight top 25 finish of the spring. She led the field on the par-4 holes, finishing 2-over. Sophia Florek finished tied for 23rd with a three-day score of 237 (79-77-81).

• ISU athletic director Nathan Christensen also announced last Wednesday that they had extended head women’s swimming and diving coach Josh Christensen through 2027-28.

• On Monday, Indiana State basketball player Jaden Daughtry entered the portal. Daughtry averaged 12.9 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game this past season. Then on Tuesday, Semie Brar entered the portal. She averaged 2.4 points per game for the ISU women’s basketball team this past season.

• The Missouri Valley Conference men’s basketball world continues to see change as Drake coach Ben McCollum left for Iowa with guards Bennett Stirtz and Kael Combs entering the portal shortly thereafter, along with forwards Cam Manyawu and Isaia Howard.

Stirtz announced Tuesday on his X account he was following McCollum to Iowa. Fellow Drake player Tavion Banks also entered the portal Tuesday along with Belmont’s Jonathan Pierre.

Also last Wednesday, UIC guards Khaled Khaled and Jordan Mason entered the portal.

The portal entries continued Thursday as Valparaiso forward Kaspar Sepp declared his intentions. This came on the heels of Johnny Kinziger and his team winning the CBI title last Wednesday night with a 79-68 victory over Cleveland State.

Then on Friday, Drake’s Joey Matteoni and UIC’s Sasa Ciani entered the portal. Murray State added former Creighton power forward Mason Miller from the portal as well Friday.

• Closer to home, the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Hunt Seat Equestrian Team traveled to Roscoe, Ill., over the weekend to compete in the second step of the IHSA Hunt Seat postseason.

Jaden Perry and Hope Gillaspie have qualified to represent the Pomeroys at the IHSA Nationals in Tryon, N.C., the first weekend of May.

Hope Gillaspie – third Place, Intermediate Fences; reserve champion, Intermediate Flat.

Savanna Amschl – seventh place, Novice Flat.
