Weather Alert Day: Bozeman and surrounding areas as heavy, wet snowfall continues into Wednesday morning. Snowfall rates and travel impacts are expected to increase beyond sunset, especially over mountain passes.

Moisture wrapping around an area of low pressure will continue to keep rain and snow showers ongoing area wide as it tracks southeast through the region this evening. For areas west of the divide such as the Butte/Blackfoot and Seeley Lake/Potomac Regions winter driving conditions will continue through about midnight, especially over mountain passes.

After that, the focus for this storm system returns to southwest Montana, specifically Gallatin and Madison Counties. Occasionally heavy snowfall is anticipated overnight in these areas.

Additional accumulations of 1-5" remain possible in the Gallatin and Madison Valleys while at pass level and higher, 5-10" are expected.

Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect in through 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Showery weather continues Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday night into Thursday will see the best chance for light snowfall accumulations as a backdoor cold front slides into northwest Montana. This is most likely to impact the Flathead Valley with up to 2" of snowfall.

Seasonal temperatures will continue, with most valley areas observing highs in the mid 40s to low 50s.

This weekend, high pressure will begin to build over the region leading to drier conditions and a decent warm up with highs in the 60s and potentially low 70s.
