Common Man for Ukraine helping to bring supplies to villages impacted by war in Ukraine
A group of Granite Staters with Common Man for Ukraine are helping to provide emergency supplies and emotional support to those impacted by the war in Ukraine.
Co-founders of Common Man for Ukraine Susan Mathison and Lisa Mure are visiting more than a dozen villages in Ukraine this week that were ravaged by the ongoing war with Russia.
The visit to Ukraine is part of a multi-week retreat to give back to those impacted by the ongoing war. Earlier this month, several New Hampshire students volunteered with Common Man for Ukraine for a trauma retreat in Poland before organizers made their way to Ukraine.
With the help of 16 trucks, Mathison and Mure are working to deliver more than 60,000 pounds of food, generators, solar lanterns and other emergency supplies to Ukrainians in need.
"It's a mission of love in the very worst of times, and the very best of people step forward. We are proud to be a part of it, and grateful for the trust that people place in us," Mathison said.

After visiting more than 10 times in the past few years, Mure said it still means the world to have the opportunity to give back to a country that has lost so much.
"These kids have been afraid for three years. They've sometimes lost their homes, sometimes they've lost a parent, and they're still really joyful children who just want to be loved. And that's what we come to do. We bring love from America. We bring resources to them, and it's just an amazing thing just to see them smile," Mure said.
Since its founding, Common Man for Ukraine has raised over $4 million and donated over 20 tons of food and 10,000 sleeping bags to people in Ukraine. The nonprofit has also helped get hundreds of children into trauma counseling.
