Volkswagen India has officially opened pre-bookings for the all-new Tiguan R-Line. Customers can book the SUV at Volkswagen dealerships across the country or at the company’s official website. Good news for Volkswagen Golf fans as the German automobile manufacturer has revealed that the hot hatch will make its debut in Q2 2025. Buyers can now register their interest in the Golf GTI, which will be available exclusively through online sales channels.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Engine Specs
The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is offered in three engine configurations globally, including two petrol variants, a diesel option, and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV). The 2-litre TSI turbo-petrol** engine comes in two states of tune, the base version delivers 201 bhp and 320 Nm of torque, while the more powerful variant generates 261 bhp and 400 Nm. Both petrol engines are paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DSG) transmission. Notably, the 201 bhp model is the one confirmed for the Indian market, where it will likely feature an all-wheel-drive system.
Internationally, the Tiguan lineup includes a 2-litre TDI diesel producing 190 bhp and 400 Nm, paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. However, this engine will not be available in India as Volkswagen has discontinued diesel offerings in the country. Additionally, there’s a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant, which combines a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine generating 174 bhp and 250 Nm with an 85 kW electric motor, delivering a combined output of 268 BHP and 400 Nm. This hybrid model comes with a 6-speed DSG automatic transmission.

Volkswagen has unveiled the colour options of the Tiguan R-Line. The new SUV will be available in Persimmon Red Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White with Mother of Pearl Effect and Oyster Silver Metallic.

The Tiguan R-Line boasts an all-black cabin accentuated with red highlights across the dashboard, door panels, and center console. The showstopper is the 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with a 10.3-inch digital cockpit. Elevating comfort and convenience, the SUV is equipped with amenities such as a wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display and heated and ventilated front seats.
