The new card is replacing Shell Fleet Plus, Shell Small Business, and Shell Fleet Navigator cards, but still offers fuel rebates, payment flexibility, and maintenance discounts.
Shell and WEX have launched the new Shell Card, which comes in two options: Shell Card Business and Shell Card Business Flex. The new card replaces Shell Fleet Plus, Shell Small Business, and Shell Fleet Navigator cards, with Shell Card Business ideal for small to mid-sized fleets and Shell Card Business Flex better for larger ones. Both come with features including fuel rebates, payment flexibility, access to loyalty offerings, and maintenance discounts.
"The new and improved Shell Card is more than a fuel card and more than a way to save on your everyday fleet expenses,” said Mohamad Kabbani, head of Shell Fleet Solution US. “It is an all-in-one solution that helps fleet operators unlock new levels of efficiency and performance.”
Both systems included tiered rebates on fuel for drivers who buy at Shell stations. The rebates come into play every billing cycle at a rate of up to five cents per gallon for the Shell Card Business Flex and up to six cents per gallon for Shell Card Business. Additionally, Shell Card Business Flex holders can get additional rebates of three cents or five cents at certain Shell locations, which can be found through the Shell station locator or the WEX DriverDash app.
The Shell Card also supports fuel purchases at over 95% of U.S. gas stations and public EV charging stations, the company said. Shell Card Business Flex can work at the following locations: Shell Recharge, Blink, AmpUp, ChargePoint, EVgo, EV Connect, and Flo. Additionally, fuel and EV charging purchases are combined in billing statements, reporting, and data usage, and DriverDash and Wex’s RFID technology can transmit charging behavior, driver ID information, and vehicle mileage to a fleet manager.
Other benefits of the new card include preventative maintenance services through the Jiffy Lube Fleet Program, with some Jiffy Lube locations offering up to 20% discounts. The cards also include Fleet Rescue 24/7 emergency roadside assistance, and flexible billing, scheduling and mobile payment options.
Finally, the Shell Card and Fuel Rewards program can be used together at participating Shell stations, and the new cards include fleet management tools through one online portal as well as free paperless billing.
