The Motorola Razr 2022 launched in China last month, and a well-known tipster kind of confirmed it’s coming to global markets. That confirmation came yesterday in the form of global marketing materials. That being said, the Motorola Razr 2022 may have a different name in the US and Europe, and all markets outside of China.

This information comes from Nils Ahrensmeier, who is also a tipster. Instead of using the Motorola Razr 2022 name, Motorola may opt for a ‘Razr 22’ name. So, the final name will be the Motorola Razr 22.

We’re still not sure this is happening, even though Nils is usually spot on with his information. So, we don’t have a reason not to believe him, to be quite honest. Either way, we’ll likely find out soon.

We still don’t know when exactly will Motorola announce its new clamshell foldable outside of China, but that will likely happen soon. It is almost certainly coming to both Europe and the US, and likely a number of other markets.

This handset looks considerably different than its predecessors

Design-wise, the Motorola Razr 2022 is a step away from its predecessors. It no longer has a notch on the main display, nor does it have a huge ‘chin’ at the bottom. There are now two cameras on its back, instead of one, etc.

All of the things that Motorola removed were kind of reminiscent of the original Razr cellphone. Motorola decided to remove them, and make this phone look more modern, and more in line with the Galaxy Z Flip series.

That being said, the Motorola Razr 2022 has a 6.7-inch fullHD+ main display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The cover display measures 2.7 inches, and both of these are OLED panels.

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 fuels the phone, while the device has up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage, at least in China. Things may be a bit different globally.

Stereo speakers are included, as is a 3,500mAh battery. The device supports 33W wired charging, while wireless charging is not supported. A 50-megapixel wide, and a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera can be spotted on the back of the device.
