Close allies of President Joe Biden are working to sure up support for his reelection campaign in New Hampshire. On Saturday, Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota was in Nashua to open a new field office for the Biden campaign. The event featured a roster of local democratic officials and organizers who plan to use the office as the base of operations for a flurry of phone and door-knocking campaigns heading into November's general election. In a one-on-one interview with News 9, Klobuchar laid out the contrast between Biden and former President Donald Trump on issues including reproductive rights and foreign aid. "Literally, Donald Trump has said positive things about Vladimir Putin, who is a tyrant," the senator said. "It is Biden that has stood up for democracy abroad and democracy in the U.S."While surrogates like Klobuchar work to drum up support for Biden, Trump is getting himself back on the campaign trail. The former president is set to hold a rally in North Carolina Saturday evening, his first since the start of his criminal hush money trial in New York City. Trump has lamented that trial and other criminal cases he faces related to his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election and retention of classified documents are politically motivated.Outside the Manhattan courthouse on Friday, Trump told reporters the trial was keeping him from campaigning in key swing states. "This is a rigged case and this was a case that was put in very strongly because of politics, So, instead of being in Pennsylvania or Georgia or North Carolina or lots of other places, I'm sitting in a courthouse all day long," Trump said. Trump is expected to be back in the New York City courtroom this week.
